Job description

Summary
CHS is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our team in Pasco, WA! This individual will manage logistics activities for our PNW region, with a focus of working with external carrier partners and our own CHS drivers to coordinate product movement via truck. This is a hybrid position, and will be working on site 3 days/week with an option to work 2 days/week from home.
Compensation Data
Hiring Range: $61,400- 98,200
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-today logistics activities required for the transportation of products. Work with production plants and sales staff on transportation schedules/dispatch tender loads to ensure timely and accurate execution of logistics movement.
  • Select carriers and/or drivers to initiate shipments to encompass all commodities.
  • Participate and contribute in negotiating competitive rates or contracts with suppliers and carriers.
  • Manage capacity and service expectations.
  • Independently analyze current transportation operations practices to resolve process and cost improvement opportunities.
  • Manage carrier relationships and build long term partnerships.
  • Monitor carrier/fleet performance/KPI's and take corrective action to reverse negative trends and maintain required service levels.
  • Update transportation websites and databases for contracts, freight rates, and estimates, insurance information, customer information, etc.
  • Deliver value goals by using knowledge of the transportation industry to make recommendations to strengthen customer and carrier/fleet relations through continuous improvement.
  • Optimization of our CHS assets.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • 2+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Procurement
  • High School diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications
  • Technical, associate degree or higher.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to Multi-task
  • Good coordination and organizational abilities

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
