As a Christian writer, your duties are to research, write, and edit Christian content for publication on a website, through newsletters, in books, or through any other method your company wants to use. In marketing roles, you may also help collect marketing collateral to use throughout various publications. As a faith, Christianity includes groups known as denominations, and many of these groups have distinct interpretations of the church's holy text. Christian writers are expected to write content that matches their denomination's views. Creating theologically sound material may require significant time and research. This is most relevant to any content that addresses matters of faith, as other content does not need theological support.
| Aspect | Christian Writer | Christian Editor |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Role | Creates original Christian content, such as books, articles, or devotionals. | Reviews, revises, and refines Christian content for clarity, accuracy, and style. |

| Work Environment | Freelance, publishing houses, religious organizations. | Publishing companies, editing firms, religious publishers. |

While both Christian Writers and Christian Editors work within the Christian publishing industry, Christian Writers focus on creating original content, whereas Christian Editors concentrate on refining and improving existing Christian materials. Both roles require a good understanding of Christian themes, but their daily tasks and skill sets differ significantly.
