Athletic Department/Sports Information Graduate Assistant
Position Summary
The Sports Information Graduate Assistant supports the athletics department by assisting with
media relations, communications, and promotion of the university?s athletic programs while
pursuing a graduate degree. The GA may also assist the Athletics Department and Athletic
Director as needed. Participation in institutional chapel services is expected, reflecting the
university?s values and mission.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Media Relations & Communications
? Assist with press releases, game notes, statistics, and media guides
? Maintain athletics website, social media platforms, and digital content
? Coordinate interviews, photo/video coverage, and media requests
? Track and report athletic accomplishments, records, and milestones
Game & Event Operations
? Support game-day operations, including statistics, announcements, and media
coordination
? Assist in organizing athletic events, award ceremonies, and special promotions
? Work with student-athletes, coaches, and staff to provide accurate media information
Administrative & Departmental Support
? Assist the Athletics Department and Athletic Director with projects, communications, and
administrative tasks as needed
? Maintain databases, filing systems, and archival records
? Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities

? Bachelor?s degree from an accredited institution
? Acceptance into a graduate program at the university
? Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
? Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed
? Willingness to participate in chapel and faith-based programming
Preferred:
? Experience in sports information, journalism, or media production
? Knowledge of NCCAA rules and athletics operations
? Proficiency in social media, Adobe Creative Suite, or video editing
