Join the PennDOT District 9 family and become a Civil Engineer Trainee (CET). This is your chance to gain hands-on experience across various civil engineering disciplines while contributing to critical transportation projects. Our comprehensive 12-month training program will equip you with the skills and knowledge to excel in bridge, transportation, hydraulic, or geotechnical engineering.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Shape the Future of Transportation Infrastructure:
As a CET, you'll be actively involved in various aspects of civil engineering through a structured training program. Here's a glimpse of what you can expect:

  • Get Your Hands Dirty: Assist with field data collection, traffic studies, and construction inspections.

  • Design and Analysis: Contribute to preliminary engineering studies, draft reports, and prepare design elements for highway and bridge projects.

  • Technical Expertise: Develop proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools for civil engineering applications.

  • Rotational Program: Experience diverse work environments across Design, Construction, and Maintenance divisions, including the Central Office in Harrisburg.

This position offers a dynamic and enriching experience that will propel your engineering knowledge and career aspirations.
