What is a Christian IT professional?

A Christian IT professional is an individual who works in the field of information technology while integrating Christian values and ethics into their work. They may serve in churches, faith-based organizations, or secular workplaces, providing technical support, managing networks, developing software, or overseeing digital ministries. Their role often includes ensuring that technology is used responsibly and in alignment with Christian principles, such as integrity, stewardship, and service to others.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Christian IT professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Christian IT professional, you need strong technical skills in areas such as software development, network administration, or IT support, typically backed by a relevant degree or certifications like CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft. Familiarity with industry-standard tools, cybersecurity protocols, and IT service management systems is essential. Integrity, teamwork, and effective communication are soft skills that set you apart in collaborative and values-driven work environments. These competencies ensure reliable technology solutions and foster trust and efficiency within organizations, especially those with faith-based missions.

How does a Christian IT professional balance technical responsibilities with supporting the faith-based mission of their organization?

Christian IT professionals often work for faith-based organizations, where they are expected not only to manage technical systems but also to align their work with the organization's mission and values. This can involve implementing technology solutions that facilitate ministry activities, ensuring digital content supports the organization's objectives, and maintaining ethical standards in all IT operations. Collaboration with other teams, such as ministry leaders or communications staff, is common to ensure that technology enhances rather than hinders outreach efforts. Successfully balancing these aspects requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and a clear understanding of both IT practices and organizational goals.

Job description

Description

At Christian Family Solutions, we are committed to healing and helping people in need with the same excellence and unconditional love that Jesus Christ demonstrated in His ministry. It is our goal to help clients feel welcomed, safe, and supported within our family of care. Click here to view a video about us. When someone is called to a career with a strong sense of purpose, it's more than a job. It's a vocation.

What you will be doing:

Christian Family Solutions is actively seeking counselors who are members of a WELS or ELS congregation and have a strong desire to learn more about integrating Christian counseling practices based on these principles. This part-time School-Based Therapist role provides services at three school partnership locations - Mt. Lebanon (Alpha Campus), Shining Star Christian Schools (Capitol Campus), and Saint Lucas Lutheran Schools, all located in Milwaukee, WI. Our school partnership program is a customized and comprehensive way for schools to assist in meeting the emotional or psychological needs of their students by providing them with convenient, affordable services. In this school-based therapist role, you will not only provide clinical therapy, but also work collaboratively with school staff and parents to support student's academic, social, emotional and/or behavioral support by creating and assisting with school-based intervention plans.

This position would begin in August 2026. Hours for this role will generally be 8:00am-4:00pm, four days per week during the 2026-2027 school year. This is a school year position which includes an eight-week non-work period in the summer months. This part-time role is eligible for Paid Time Off (PTO), medical dental and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan with employer match policy.

Many of our clients choose CFS because they desire to have their care guided by principles and values of the Christian faith. Our approach embraces the two main aspects of the Bible's teachings: God's Law (His guide for living) and His Gospel (His forgiveness and grace when we and others fail to live according to the guidance He provides). As a therapist with Christian Family Solutions, you will meet clients where they are in terms of their faith. Any application of faith principles is done with the appropriate sensitivity and cultural competence that meets or exceeds the standards of our profession as outlined in the American Psychological Association's ethical code. We provide excellent and compassionate care to all clients, regardless of socioeconomic background or faith affiliation.

Why work for Christian Family Solutions?

You will receive guidance, support, and training on evidence-based care along with Christian integration techniques so that you can appropriately align the counseling experience with the principles of the Christian faith. You will work in a unique environment where both your professional skills and your faith can grow.

Joining our team means more than just a career - it's a vocation driven by a profound sense of purpose. We prioritize the professional development of our staff, providing ample opportunities for both professional and spiritual growth. To deliver our unique approach, training opportunities are built into our benefits package. That said, our employees regularly tell us that their reasons for working at CFS extend far beyond compensation and benefits. It's about a calling to serve others in their time of great need. If you are motivated to assist clients in a comfortable, supportive, and Christ-centered atmosphere with a strong Christian Mission and Core Values, we want you to be a part of our team!
