In our stack, we use modern tools like React, Redux, Material UI, .NET Core, SQL Server and Azure and AWS. We have automated build deploy processes and value strong testing methodologies with automated tooling to help. While you may be skilled in these technologies, it's more important to have leadership tendencies and a drive to complete items with your team. You are especially good at team-building and helping people develop their careers in Software Engineering as our company grows. You thrive in a player-coach environment where you'll spend roughly 50% of your time in the code and 50% of your time leading your team and collaborating with other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The Tech Lead, Software Engineering, is an integral part of the Product and Software Engineering organization at Remodel Health! You will enjoy working at the intersection of technology, the healthcare industry, customer success (both internal and external), product management and software architecture. You will directly manage a team of 5-7 Software Engineers (Jr through to Sr) in the development of software projects towards company goals. You will help define systems architecture as well as help define product roadmap. Most importantly you will manage the team and define and execute processes to ensure successful team execution.
Tactical Level Execution
  • Full participant in the Product / Engineering Agile development framework; playing the role of Scrum Master for the team
  • Collaborate with Leadership, Engagement, Care, Finance, Marketing, DevSecOps, Product, Software Architecture and even external customers as needed to define and prioritize work items
  • Participate in software development to achieve sprint goals
  • Ensure the creation of quality code development towards company work items (epics, stories, bugs) with the team
  • Validate feature requests or bugs with product management
  • Work with Product to keep the product backlog clean and accurate and prioritized • Guide employee onboarding for your team
  • Team development activities like coordinating trainings, ongoing 1/1s and annual employee reviews

Strategic Level Items
  • Build a high performing Software Engineering team; executing efficiently and effectively in the delivery of quality software
  • Build relationships with other team leaders in the company to ensure accurate prioritization of team's work items
  • Work with Product Management to define and execute product vision

Qualifications
  • 3+ years technical experience, software engineering or comparable
  • Leadership skills reflective of an entrepreneurial mindset (get it done and iterate is better than perfection)
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. Healthcare Systems preferred
  • Skilled in Agile software development processes
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • A strong collaborator with various types of stakeholders, both technical and business
  • Experience developing web services using C# or Java
  • Develop web applications using JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
