Job description

HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Import Export Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. import and export regulations and maintaining global trade compliance policies and procedures, with a primary focus on CBP and EAR rules and regulations.
This is a 100% in-office position based in Long Grove, IL, Jackson, TN, or Farmington Hills, MI

EXPECTATIONS

· Ensure compliance with import and export laws, with a primary focus on U.S. Customs regulations
· Monitor regulatory changes and assess their business impact
· Develop and maintain global trade compliance policies, procedures, and training
· Support internal and external audits, post-entry reviews, and compliance assessments
· Lead product HTS & ECCN classification, valuation, country of origin, and FTA eligibility
· Manage export license process following EAR regulations and requirements
· Determine and apply Antidumping and Countervailing Duty (AD/CVD) case numbers and rates
· Serve as the primary point of contact for CBP trade compliance inquiries and investigations
· Track trade KPIs and provide insights to senior leadership

ESSENTIALS

· Licensed US Customs Broker (LCB) preferred
· 5- 7+ years of trade compliance experience, focused on import logistics
· In-depth knowledge of U.S. import regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and PGA
· Strong knowledge of Free Trade Agreement programs, with emphasis on USMCA
· Experience with Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) and duty drawback programs
· Experience in automotive, chore products, or base metal industry a plus
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10%)
