Job description

Summary:

The Special Education Coordinator at National Heritage Academies (NHA) provides operational and administrative support to the Special Education Supervisor by monitoring compliance trackers, reviewing IEP documentation, and coordinating logistics for state-level reporting. This position will serve as a key departmental liaison, gathering critical data and managing systems to ensure school-site compliance and reduce administrative burden.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports to Lead Special Education Supervisor and provides support to assigned schools.

  • Assists with documentation review for compliance (IEPs, timelines) under SE Supervisor direction.

  • Drafts responses and gathers materials for state complaints or monitoring reviews.

  • Coordinates logistics for meetings, corrective action plans, and follow-up documentation.

  • Monitors compliance trackers and flags potential risks to SE Supervisor.

  • Supports implementation of established systems and processes in schools.

  • Collects and organizes data for SE Supervisor review and decision-making.

  • Serves as operational support to reduce backflow and administrative burden.

  • Additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in special education and/or educational administration.

  • 2-4 years in Special Education, Compliance, or school-based Special Education role.
