Active Spine and Joint Institute is seeking a full-time, sports-minded Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our expanding multidisciplinary team of Chiropractors, Occupational Therapists, Nurse Practitioners, and Exercise Specialists.
Our team works together to provide patients with drug-free, non-surgical treatment options designed to help them get out of pain, improve function, and get back to the activities they enjoy.
With more than 34 years of experience, Active Spine and Joint Institute has grown to three South Jersey locations in Rio Grande, Northfield, and Mount Laurel, and we continue to expand.
A Unique Opportunity for an OTA
This position offers an opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge and work alongside both our Occupational Therapists and Chiropractors.
The selected candidate will be enrolled in a Licensed Chiropractic Assistant program, with the full cost of the program and licensure paid for by the owner.
Once appropriately trained and licensed, you will have the opportunity to work under both our Occupational Therapists and Chiropractors, giving you valuable experience in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation setting.
Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Assist with patient evaluations, treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation programs
  • Work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, Chiropractors, Medical Providers, and Exercise Specialists
  • Assist patients in improving strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and overall function
  • Educate patients on exercises and home treatment programs
  • Complete accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate on patient care
  • Communicate with and refer patients to Chiropractic Physicians and Medical Providers when appropriate
  • Complete training and coursework associated with the Chiropractic Assistant program
  • Once licensed and trained, assist with chiropractic-related patient care under the direction of our Chiropractors
  • Be willing to periodically travel to our Northfield and Mount Laurel offices to provide coverage
Qualifications
  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license in the state of New Jersey
  • Sports-minded and interested in rehabilitation, movement, and helping patients return to the activities they enjoy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Reliable, professional, and patient-focused
  • Willingness to periodically travel between our South Jersey offices
  • PAMs certification preferred, but not required
  • Previous outpatient, orthopedic, sports rehabilitation, or chiropractic experience is a plus, but not required
Compensation & Benefits
  • $26-$30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
  • Full-time, 30-40 hours per week

Location
The primary location for this position will be our Rio Grande, NJ office. We do ask that the candidate be willing to periodically travel to our Northfield and Mount Laurel locations when coverage is needed.
