Asian Cuisine Wok Cook – Governors GrillPosition Summary

Bring your wok-cooking experience, attention to detail, and passion for Asian cuisine to the Governors Grill culinary team. The Asian Cuisine Wok Cook is responsible for preparing flavorful, high-quality dishes while maintaining company standards for presentation, portion control, sanitation, and food safety.

The ideal candidate has previous experience working with a wok, preparing fresh ingredients, and producing consistent menu items in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare menu items according to established recipes and instructions provided by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
  • Prepare fresh and flavorful stir-fry dishes using a variety of meats, vegetables, sauces, seasonings, and other ingredients.
  • Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation throughout each shift.
  • Ensure that sauces, fresh vegetables, meats, and other ingredients are properly prepared and available for service.
  • Follow established standards for quality, portion size, consistency, and food presentation.
  • Ensure that all food products meet company standards before being served.
  • Work effectively at assigned cooking stations while maintaining the highest quality in the finished product.
  • Apply proper cooking techniques, kitchen safety procedures, and safe equipment-handling practices.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize cutting boards, worktables, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with company sanitation standards and all applicable Health Department requirements.
  • Ensure that no food leaves the kitchen without a valid ticket, including management meals.
  • Properly wrap, label, date, rotate, and store all food products in designated areas.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and respectful demeanor during interactions with guests, team members, management, and vendors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Three to five years of previous restaurant cooking experience preferred.
  • Previous experience preparing and cooking food using a wok is required.
  • Previous experience with ingredient preparation, sauces, meats, vegetables, and Asian-style cooking techniques is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Asian cuisine, dishes, and flavor profiles is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Strong wok-cooking and food-preparation skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Knowledge of proper food-handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, cleanliness, and consistency.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a culinary team.
