Job description

Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest is a full-service electrical and low voltage contractor located in Arizona, Iowa, Nebraska, and Utah. Position Summary: This position will install, maintain and repair electrical systems, apparatus and electrical/electronic components in accordance with the National Electrical Code and all other applicable standards and specifications.
Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Measure, cut, bend and install conduit, using appropriate equipment
  • Pull electrical wire and cable in conduit using manual and power equipment
  • Move/handle various equipment and spools of wire
  • Install electrical raceways and wire, conduit, lighting fixtures, controls, machinery and electrical distribution equipment
  • Proper care for material, tools and equipment
  • Exemplify, promote and foster our purpose of Committed to Excellence through our Core Values of Customers, Employees, Character and Mastery
  • All other duties as assigned and required

Required Qualifications:
  • State of Nebraska Journeyman Electrical License
  • OSHA 10 Card
  • Must be able to read blueprints to determine how to best install the components and wiring
  • Functional understanding of Low Voltage systems
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and hard working
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels

Education and Experience:
  • Completion of a state approved apprenticeship with field experience and classroom requirements
  • Must be able to pass an essential duties test, drug screening, background check and must maintain a valid driver's license
