This is a full-time Elementary Chinese Immersion Teaching position for the 2026-2027 School Year at W.B. Simpson Elementary School.
Individuals who are eligible or possess Elementary Dual Language Immersion - Chinese or Teacher of K-6 and Chinese World Language certification are encouraged to apply. All candidates must apply on-line. If you are interested in this position, but have not yet met all of the requirements, list your license as "pending." Preference given to teachers who meet ALL of the requirements for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must meet State of Delaware certification requirements for Elementary Teacher K-6 and Teacher of World Language - Chinese OR Elementary Dual Language Immersion Teacher - Chinese. Successful candidates must provide evidence of successful PRAXIS II scores.
Out of State Candidates: An educator applying for a license in the State of DE with less than 1 year of experience will be placed on an Initial License. Applicants with one completed year of experience, but less than 4 years of experience will receive an Initial License. The State of Delaware Department of Education (DOE) may recognize standard certificates from all other states as a means of eligibility. (Maryland graduates do not receive Standard certificates; therefore, must meet all DE testing requirements or exemption testing).
In addition, see PUBLIC RESOURCES: Holders of Non U.S. Credentials if your Bachelor's (or Master's degree) is not from a U.S. University. Bachelors degrees from a foreign university must be translated for equivalency before being accepted by the Delaware Department of Education. An educator applying for a license in the State of DE with less than 1 year of experience will be placed on an Initial License. Applicants with one completed year of experience, but less than 4 years of experience will receive an Initial License (with proof of current and valid out of state license).
APPLICANTS MUST HOLD A US SOCIAL SECURITY CARD.
SALARY: In accordance with the State of Delaware and local salary schedules, based on experience and degree. Benefits package included.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Individuals must provide official transcripts, if applicable, updated resume, and three (3) letters of recommendation.
  • All persons employed by the Caesar Rodney School District are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test.
  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide the following: proper identification (Social Security Card and Driver's License), documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.A., completion of I-9 form, and completion of paperwork for the Delaware Child Protection Registry.
