Steam & Refrigeration Engineering Operator
Job Summary
Under limited supervision, responsible for operating and maintaining work involving heating plant operations, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems installed within all airport terminals, buildings, parking lots, and related facilities.
Pay Rate: $45.55 / Hour

Position Description
1. Performs maintenance, repairs, inspections, installations, and diagnoses of steam generation, Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC), pneumatics, and cooling systems. Ensures proper maintenance of HVAC controls such as Differential Control (DC) pneumatic controllers, differential pressure transmitters, reversing relays, Cubic Feet Per Minute (CFM) controls.
2. Monitors water treatment stations and performs chemical tests to ensure proper treatment in hot and chiller water systems. Monitors Metasys System to identify and respond to alarms.
3. Identifies equipment maintenance issues using testing devices, blueprints, drawings, instruction and operation maintenance manuals.
4. Performs inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with safety standards and the efficient operation of all equipment. Maintains records on all work performed.
5. Researches availability and cost for replacement parts, completes requisitions, and inventories stock parts and equipment.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED. First Class Steam and Refrigeration License and Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification. A Refrigeration First Class Proficiency License or Master Gas License is preferred. Must obtain Class II Airport Operations Area (AOA) license within six (6) months of employment.
Three (3) years of experience in boiler and chiller construction, fabrication, repair, or Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) and/or three (3) years of Airport Authority Building Maintenance experience. Knowledge of roof-top units, low- pressure boilers, chiller operations, hot and chill water systems, and HVAC computer system operations. Knowledge of interpreting specifications, blueprints, schematics, drawings, and sketches. Basic office software applications, such as Microsoft Word. Good written, verbal, math, and communication skills. Must have a valid driver license.
