Position Overview

The Dietary Aide plays an important role in providing high‑quality service to residents, visitors, and employees. This position is responsible for serving meals, preparing food items, maintaining clean and safe kitchen areas, and supporting the dietary team across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare tray line items including napkins, wrapped silverware, trays, lids, and placemats

  • Complete food prep for tray line and cooler

  • Purée food as needed

  • Assemble trays according to meal requests or physician orders

  • Stock carts with ice water and iced tea for lunch

  • Load and deliver carts to childcare, hospital, senior living, and nursing home areas

  • Prepare puddings, Jell‑O, and salads for the next day

  • Serve lunch on the tray line

  • Refill salad bar

  • Check dates on puddings, custards, and similar items to ensure freshness

  • Clear and sanitize tables and tabletop items

  • Empty carts and remove trash

  • Clean carts, coffee pots, and kitchen equipment

  • Wash dishes and maintain a clean kitchen environment

  • Prepare kitchen and dining rooms for the next meal

  • Answer kitchen phone as needed

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in high school

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to work well with a variety of people

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

  • Reliable and dependable

  • Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays

  • Food service sanitation license preferred

Background Check amp; Drug Screen

All HMC employees must pass a federal and state background check and a drug and alcohol screening. Testing includes both illegal and legal substances, including cannabis (THC).

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a kitchen environment with exposure to hot foods, utensils, water, and potentially slick surfaces. Safety procedures are followed to minimize hazards.
