Job Summary: The Compliance Officer's primary responsibilities include creating programs and procedures to ensures that the gambling hall adheres to all relevant gaming laws, regulations, and internal policies to prevent any legal or ethical violations and collaborating with external regulators and governmental agencies. All primary duties require the exercise of discretion and independent judgment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor and audit Gilley's for compliance with federal, state, and local gaming law
  • Develop and enforce effective internal policies and procedures for compliance purposes
  • Develop and conduct regular training on compliance and regulatory requirements across Gilley's personnel
  • Independently investigate and resolve any potential violations or complaints, working with legal teams as necessary
  • Ensure the casino's licenses remain in good standing
  • Monitor and keep up-to-date with changes in the gaming industry's regulations
  • Independently prepare and submit reports for regulatory bodies as required
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies during inspections, managing all aspects of external and/or governmental communications related to inspections
  • Must be able to deal with high volume customer interactions and be consistently outgoing, upbeat and cheerful
  • Builds guest relations throughout every shift by talking with customers and making them feel welcome, comfortable, and inviting them back
  • Observes all activity within assigned area offering assistance to all guests
  • Observes activity and reports anything that is out of the ordinary
  • Capable of handling routine customer complaints and incidents and exhibits the appropriate discretion to identify situations that require the attention of management personnel; effort is given to resolve all situations in a manner that maintains positive guest relationships
  • Ensures all guests are kept in play by providing friendly and helpful service at all interactions
  • Utilizes open body language, politely speaks with and assists guests as needed
  • Assists in maintaining a spotless facility by disposing of any cups, glasses or bottles left by guests
  • Maintains monetary and paperwork accuracy and efficiency within department/property standards
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same
  • Empowered to resolve guest disputes quickly and efficiently up to a pre-determined amount. Otherwise, ensuring a manager is notified immediately to resolve the situation.
  • Crosstrain in other departments
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older and have the ability to obtain and retain a KRGC Gaming License.
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Previous experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles, preferably in a casino or gaming setting
  • In-depth knowledge of gaming laws, regulations, and licensing requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct investigations and audits
  • Proficient with compliance management software and systems
  • One year of direct customer contact experience, preferred
  • Previous money handling experience preferred
  • Display professionalism; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance as outlined in the Gilley's Team Member Handbook
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
