Join Our Radiology Team in Aurora, Colorado!

Our organization is on the lookout for a full-time Board-Certified Radiologist to take on the role of Chief of Radiology at the Rocky Mountain Regional Medical Center, part of the Eastern Colorado Health Care System.

In this position, you will play a vital role in enhancing quality care standards and fostering the growth of a VA academic hospital program.

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding leader, effective communicator, and collaborative team member, capable of adapting to the dynamic environment of a large, established medical center.

Your responsibilities will include supervising a diverse team of radiology professionals and support staff, which encompasses physicians, technologists, nurses, and administrative personnel.

You will also be involved in the planning, development, and management of various radiology operations, including general radiology, CT, ultrasound, MRI, mammography, interventional radiology, and nuclear medicine. This includes overseeing fiscal responsibilities, budgeting, operational compliance, and more.

In your clinical capacity, you will serve as a diagnostic radiologist, interpreting a range of radiology studies conducted by the Radiology Service, such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, general radiology, and fluoroscopy. You may also provide services in additional clinical areas where you are trained and privileged, such as breast imaging or interventional radiology.

Additionally, you will support academic partnerships involving technologists, radiologic assistants, medical students, residents, and other educational programs associated with the Imaging Service. Your role will include providing clinical experience, cognitive development, and effective teaching methodologies.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: Up to $400,000 annually.
  • Recruitment Bonus: Up to 25% of your annual salary.
  • Relocation Assistance: Available for highly qualified candidates.
  • Education Debt Reduction Program: Eligible for student loan repayment through the EDRP, subject to specific eligibility criteria. Applications must be submitted within four months of appointment, with potential awards up to $200,000.
  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual leave, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a possible 5-day paid absence for CME.
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension with a 5-year vesting period and a federal 401k with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.
  • Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options, many of which can be carried into retirement.
  • CME: Potential reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year.
  • Malpractice: Liability protection with tail coverage provided at no cost.
  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.
Preferred Experience:
  • At least three years of leadership experience in imaging.
  • Specialization in Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine, MSK, or Mammography.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in your area of specialized imaging expertise.
Employment Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited medical or osteopathic institution.
  • Possession of a full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory, which must remain current and active.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required; non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
