HARTZ Search invites you to explore an exciting opportunity for the Chief Operating Officer, Insurance Operations, with our client, Geisinger, in Danville, PA.The Chief Operating Officer, Insurance Operations is responsible for leading, planning, and overseeing the operational strategy, performance, and execution of Geisinger's Insurance Operations functions. Geisinger Insurance Operations (GIO) includes Geisinger Health Plan, Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company, and Geisinger Quality Operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Responsible and accountable for successfully delivering the entire portfolio of GIO operational initiatives. Drives the changes to the processes and related system capabilities needed to facilitate the delivery of those initiatives across the organization.
  • Ensures member-centric culture and communications. Provides vision, organization, and leadership to the Customer Service, Claims, and Membership operations for the GIO. Responsible for compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements applicable to these operational areas.
  • In conjunction with peers; provides vision, organization, and leadership in the implementation of activities around strategic planning, resource prioritization, resource coordination, budget forecasting, and effective communications to all appropriate levels.
  • Responsible for driving the self-service capabilities available to Members, Providers, and Employer Groups.
  • Communicates and consults with GIO and Geisinger leadership with regard to the overall condition and performance of the GIO. Advises leadership regarding new programs / financial issues of these areas, making recommendations about the overall implications of a decision.
  • Fosters and promotes a positive work environment with teamwork, respect, and communication; supports personal growth and development of people. Creates an environment of accountability, responsibility, and ownership through consistent leadership, direction, and support.
  • Responsible for GIO oversight of the Human Resources function.

ROLE DETAILS:

  • COO, Insurance Operations reports directly to the President of Geisinger Health Plan.
  • The COO, Insurance Operations will have 5 direct reports.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education :
    • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience :
    • Minimum of 10 years of healthcare experience.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
