Executive Assistant to the CEO
We are KBR
When you become part of our KBR team, your opportunities are endless. Through internal collaboration, and with our partners and customers, we're defining tomorrow's challenges, then providing the innovative solutions to overcome those challenges, always maintaining our commitment to Zero Harm and our Sustainability Platform.
In September 2025, we announced that we are spinning our Mission Technology Solutions business into a separate public company. This role would ultimately be part of that new company. Our Mission Technology Solutions business partners with governments and defense, intelligence, space, aviation, and critical infrastructure customers to deliver high-end engineering, science, technology, and mission support solutions. From national security and readiness to advanced research, cyber, logistics, and life-cycle sustainment, our teams help customers solve complex challenges in some of the world's most demanding environments. Whether supporting operations on the ground, at sea, in the air, or in space, our clients trust us to deliver mission-critical capabilities every day.
Working with us means being rewarded for your contributions. In addition to competitive benefits and professional development, our people are empowered to use all their potential, creating meaningful change for themselves and our clients. We attract the best minds in the world because our expertise thrives on creativity, resourcefulness and collaboration. That is how we supply our clients with cutting-edge solutions.
As the needs of the world change, we're ready to respond and guide the way forward with strategic, sustainable, and technological advancements grounded in more than a century of practical application and execution.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and strategically minded Executive Assistant to partner directly with our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Arlington, VA. This role requires a trusted advisor who can operate seamlessly at the intersection of business, government, and national security
In this highly visible role, you will serve as an extension of the CEO, ensuring the effective execution of priorities, anticipating challenges, and maintaining situational awareness across the organization and external landscape. The ideal candidate thrives in fast paced, high stakes environments, exercises exceptional judgment and discretion, and understands the unique dynamics of operating within the Washington D.C. national security and political ecosystem
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Support: Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO by managing priorities, anticipating needs, and ensuring alignment across internal and external commitments
- Calendar & Travel Management: Maintain a forward-looking view of the CEO's calendar and lead the planning and execution of complex domestic and international travel, ensuring seamless coordination of itineraries, logistics, security considerations, protocol requirements, documentation, and expenses. Anticipate changes in priorities, proactively manage travel disruptions, and ensure alignment with critical internal and external engagements while preparing and submitting expense reports with precision
- Executive Prioritization and Stakeholder Engagement: Optimize the CEO's time and focus by managing competing priorities and facilitating effective engagement with senior government officials, military leaders, policymakers, industry partners, and key internal stakeholders with professionalism, discretion, and situational awareness
- Executive Communications and Briefing Preparation: Draft and manage executive communications and prepare high-quality briefings, background materials, and talking points for key engagements
- Operational and Situational Awareness: Stay closely aligned with leadership activities and external developments to ensure the CEO is informed, prepared, and positioned ahead of emerging priorities
- Business and Industry Acumen: Develop a strong understanding of company operations and monitor press releases, earnings, and geopolitical developments to anticipate impacts on the CEO agenda
- Decision Support and Problem Solving: Provide real-time support by synthesizing information, tracking key initiatives, and proactively identifying risks and solutions
- Responsiveness and Availability: Operate with a high level of responsiveness and flexibility, serving as a reliable point of contact for urgent matters and time-sensitive matters
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
- 5+ years of experience supporting C-Suite executives in a corporate environment, preferably within defense, national security, government, or similarly regulated industries
- Proven ability to operate in high pressure, high visibility roles requiring strong discretion and judgment
- Demonstrated experience managing complex calendars, competing priorities, global travel, and executive logistics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with executives and cross-functional teams
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to build relationships with senior leaders and external stakeholders
- Exceptional attention to detail and sound professional judgment
- Proven ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information
- Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the Washington D.C. landscape including government, defense, and policy environments
- Familiarity with security protocols including clearances, handling sensitive information, and secure environments such as SCIFs
- Experience supporting executives in national security, defense, intelligence, or government contracting sectors
- Demonstrated interest in global affairs, defense policy, and geopolitical dynamics
- Experience working with senior military or government leaders
- Experience working in a global or complex corporate environment
- Experience with Concur, SharePoint, SAP, Deltek Costpoint, or similar enterprise systems
