Chi Rn information

What are some of the common challenges a Chi RN (Registered Nurse in a Catholic Health Initiatives facility) may face, and how can they prepare for them?

Working as a Chi RN can present unique challenges, such as adapting to a faith-based healthcare environment, navigating ethical considerations aligned with Catholic values, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Additionally, Chi RNs often care for diverse patient populations and may need to address spiritual needs as part of holistic care. To prepare, candidates should familiarize themselves with the facility's mission and values, seek training in culturally competent care, and be proactive in communicating with both patients and colleagues to ensure comprehensive, respectful support.

What are Chi RNs?

Chi RNs, or Registered Nurses at Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), are licensed healthcare professionals who provide patient care in hospitals, clinics, or other medical settings within the CHI network. Their responsibilities include assessing patient health, administering medications, collaborating with doctors, and educating patients and families about health management. CHI RNs follow both general nursing standards and CHI’s mission-driven values, focusing on compassionate, holistic care. They may work in various specialties, such as emergency, surgery, or critical care, depending on the needs of the facility.
