Job description

PURPOSE
Perform all tasks necessary to complete daily schedules with full accountability in the most efficient and effective manner within the Veneer Department. Work consists of routine tasks, processes and performing operations prescribed by drawings, work orders and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directly responsible for the selection and lay-out of any and all veneer, inclusive of marking and preparation including the following:
    • Softening, punches, etc.
    • Cutting
    • Stitching amp; Taping
    • Pressing
  • Directly responsible for the monitoring of pressed veneered panels for quality and accuracy to prints and layout sheets with labels for special instructions
  • Directly responsible for set-up, clean-up, and maintenance of all veneering machinery, including glue rollers
  • May be required to participate in the following:
    • Feeding and catching on the edgebander, including inspection of parts for quality and alerting operator if necessary
    • Inserting dowels for cabinet and drawer construction
    • Boring of various parts on Agen for cabinet and drawer construction
    • Machining back dado and rabbits on shapers
    • Tag, mark, and apply labels to appropriate materials
    • Run the panel processing saw to include loading, unloading and tagging of cut parts
    • Work in the capacity of General Production Associate under other departments when the schedule necessitates such actions

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience with veneer Tools and Equipment (i.e. Frizz hot press and glue roller, Kuper stitchers, Ayen boring machine, Schelling panel saw) is preferred
  • Prior experience working with veneer (crotch wood, bubinga kawazinga pomele, starburt patterns, diamond patterns, and chevron patterns) is preferred
  • Possesses working knowledge of woodworking and manufacturing
  • Correctly performs all aspects of routine work, meeting quality standards and requirements
  • Maintain awareness of shipping schedules and adjusts work capacity needs as requireds
  • Flexible in cross-training
