Lab Applications Software Engineer

The Lab Applications Software Engineer is tasked as a DevOps Engineer. DevOps is a mindset, a culture, and a set of technical practices. It provides communication, integration, automation, and close cooperation among all the people needed to plan, develop, test, deploy, release, and maintain a Solution. Our Subsurface Laboratory DevOps team maintains and modernizes our suite of Laboratory applications across the Chevron Enterprise. Our organization supports a variety of technologies and user facing applications. From fixing bugs, to developing new innovative software, to maintaining reliable systems, the Software Engineer will work as a member of an agile team whose goal is to create the most value for Lab Stakeholders and Chevron.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ yrs exp. in technical software engineering building and deployment
  • Experience performing software development, DevOps, or automation
  • In-depth knowledge of Software Engineering, Design, Development, Implementation & Testing
  • Proficient in technologies:
    • Angular Type Script
    • Azure functions, pipelines
    • Web API
    • WCF (Windows Communication Foundation)
    • Azure SQL and MS SQL Server
    • .NET Framework &.NET Core
    • C#
    • WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation)
    • Web services
    • Angular JS
    • Java
  • Experience designing, building, and supporting modern automation solutions (Custom or Pre-built)
  • Experience with CI tools (i.e. Azure DevOps)
  • Create, maintain, and debug product solutions, source code, installers and unit tests
  • Ability to switch between newer and older technologies. Modern is a must. Expert in modern programming in at least one or more modern languages as listed above
  • Experience working on multi-person onshore and offshore team utilizing ADO source code control repository, maintaining quality through manual and automated testing and following CVX code standards
  • Experience in communicating across multiple end users, stakeholders, vendors, and teams. Seeks to understand.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support responsibilities and tasks in a complex multi-user environment. Ability to pivot based on business needs.

Education:

  • Required: BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or Similar disciplines
