Location: DeLand, FL (Onsite)

Salary Range: $78,000 - $107,600 annually

Position Summary
The Laboratory Supervisor II is responsible for the daily technical and operational oversight of the Chemistry section within a high-volume clinical laboratory. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, maintains quality control, and provides leadership to laboratory staff while actively supporting testing operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations of the Chemistry laboratory, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
  • Provide leadership, training, and performance management for laboratory staff
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state of Florida regulations
  • Perform and oversee quality control, proficiency testing, and validation activities
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation, assays, and workflow issues
  • Collaborate with laboratory management to improve processes, productivity, and quality metrics
  • Ensure proper documentation, SOP adherence, and safety standards
  • Support staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Biological Science or related field
  • Active national certification: ASCP, AAB, or AMT (Chemistry)
  • Florida Supervisor License in Clinical Chemistry and Serology
  • Minimum 6 years of clinical laboratory experience, with strong focus in Chemistry
  • Prior experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in chemistry testing and instrumentation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory or lead technologist experience
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience in a high-volume or hospital-based laboratory environment
