Description of Job Duties
The Chemistry Laboratory Assistant assists the Laboratory Manager with the preparation of chemistry laboratory kits, including apparatus set-up and solutions preparations. The Laboratory Assistant maintains and restocks the laboratory chemicals and equipment stock and maintains/cleans laboratory glassware stock.

Job Qualifications
The successful applicant will have completed the lecture and laboratory coursework of Chemistry 141 and 142 with a letter grade of "C" or higher and be enrolled in Organic Chemistry lecture and lab or have already completed the series of courses with a letter grade of "C" or higher. The applicant should have a basic knowledge of laboratory glassware and equipment in addition to being able to demonstrate the safe and proper handling of chemicals and laboratory equipment. The successful Laboratory Assistant works well in a group setting but can also work independently and without direct supervision. Good verbal and written communication skills are a plus.
