Job description


 

GFL Mississauga is looking for a Processing Facilities Technician to support our processing line of business!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample inbound/onsite material, conduct screening analysis, record results

  • Ensure appropriate data entry is completed

  • De-pack loose packs, categorize, strap and track outgoing material

  • Interpret and compare results

  • Operate a tank farm and associated pumps, valves, and couplings

  • Blending and preparing product to prescribed recipe using pumps and mixers

  • Maintain a high level of organization in a fluid environment

  • Communicate and liaise with other departments

  • Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area

  • Respond to emergencies and help with the spill clean-up

  • Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and all applicable codes

  • Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and customers

  • Some overtime required

  • Other duties as requested by Supervisor


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Open availability Monday - Friday (Required to work morning and afternoon shifts)

  • Chemistry, Chemical Lab, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environnmental Technician, or related field of study

  • Must be comfortable working in a 100% outdoor environment (cold and heat)

  • Must be clean shaven (to be able to wear full mask respirator)

  • Must be comfortable working at heights (up to 10 feet)

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Exemplary communication skills
