Position Summary:

We are seeking a Chemical Process Operator. Process Operators are the foundation for everything we do. The team that you will join handle both continuous and batch processes. We also manage safety inspections, preventative maintenance, and overall cleanliness of the plant. Many of the tasks are performed outdoors. You will be reporting to the shift supervisor and working closely with maintenance, shipping departments and plant manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively support the implementation and maintenance of SACHEM's HSSEE and Quality Management Systems - SACHEM Integrated Management Systems (SIMS).
  • Monitor gages and recording instruments, adjust valves and controls to regulate temperatures, pressures, concentration of solutions and flow of chemicals through the process systems for prescribed reaction within critical limits.
  • Follow and accurately complete batch sheets and other documentation to produce product efficiently and in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Record process variations.
  • Determine initial charge, charge the reactors, adjust, and package final product
  • Operate utilities and neutralization systems, perform unloading and loading tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Report accidents, safety violations, or other concerns.
  • Assist in planning and improving processes and product quality.
  • Work with other team members to complete the production process.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Process Operator Certification preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Basic algebra required
  • Ability to carry and lift 75-pound loads required.
  • Willingness to work night shift, 12-hour shift, overtime required
  • Understanding of chemical process preferred.
  • Outdoor warehouse experience 
  • Forklift experience 
  • Experience wearing personal protective equipment preferred
  • Aptitude for mechanics preferred.
  • A desire to work with team members to improve processes and product quality in a physically demanding environment.
  • Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.
