Position overview

Join allnex and play a key role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. In this role, you will lead capital projects, support automation and process improvement initiatives, strengthen process safety and mechanical integrity programs, and help optimize plant operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys a hands-on environment, continuous improvement, and making a visible impact on daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures all personal activities adhere to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Standards and demonstrates Visible Safety Leadership through repeated Plant walkthroughs.
  • Defines scope/planning and serves as project manager for Capital Project improvements as well as manages financial aspects of the siteโ€™s capital improvement plan.
  • Leads Automation efforts and responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and fully utilizing control systems as well as providing off-hours support if needed.
  • Conducts Process Safety Management activities such as management of change, process hazards analyses, pre-startup safety reviews, etc.
  • Leads Mechanical Integrity program by interacting with 3rd Party engineers and inspectors to schedule and conduct inspections, interpret reports, and drive the execution of follow-up actions.
  • Manages site Maintenance department including short-term planning as well as execution of numerous projects and activities during shutdowns and turnarounds.
  • Provides leadership through Contractor Management to ensure work completed meets Allnex SHE and engineering standards.
  • Aligns with Operations personnel and conducts activities such as chemistry and chemical process troubleshooting to aid meeting production goals.
  • Drives Continuous Improvement through tools such as six sigma, lean, workout, etc.
  • Supports Quality Management System efforts through ownership of detailed operating procedures, execution of corrective actions, and participation in internal audit programs.
Required skills and experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a Chemical Manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Detailed, results oriented, and able to thrive in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and develop plans to execute to satisfy daily operational needs while maintaining focus on longer-term strategic needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • High level of proficiency in computer applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, SAP, LIMS, PI, AutoCAD, DCS/PLCs, etc.
