The semiconductor and electronics ecosystem is rapidly evolving along with the advancement in AI driven IC supply chain and mobile wireless markets. Emerson’s Test & Measurement business group (NI) delivers smarter test solutions that scale from the validation lab to the production floor and meet the business needs of IC manufacturers today and for the future. 

Objective of Role

NI Emerson enables fast and cost-effective design, validation, and test of cutting-edge semiconductor and electronics. Within NI’s Semiconductor & Electronics Business Unit (SEBU), we break up the semiconductor business into various market segments or business lines. Each Business Line Leader (BLL) owns the Profit and Loss (P&L) for their respective market segment and the overall strategy to grow their business line’s revenue and capture additional market share. The role requires exceptional leadership to coordinate activities driving a common strategy across a broad team of business managers and R&D. 

To accelerate our growth, SEBU is looking for a Semiconductor Business Line Lead (BLL) whose mission it is to grow our semiconductor mixed signal production test business globally.  The BLL role is a challenging role requiring significant time spent managing a large cross-functional team to develop and execute towards a common strategy and representing SEBU in front of customer management ensuring NI’s commitment in the production test industry. 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develop and execute mixed-signal production test strategy leading towards profitable and sustainable revenue growth while expanding our addressable and obtainable market.  
  • Guide Business Managers globally as they interact with NI Sales team, build customer relationships, and prioritize production test opportunities. 
  • Guide Business Managers through the process of gathering and documenting market requirements for products and solutions as part of the market segment strategy. 
  • Guide System Architects (SA) as they refine market requirements into system and product level requirements which can be handed off to R&D.
  • Establish a desired roadmap to meet long and short-term strategies and interlock roadmap with R&D.
  • Provide multi-year forecast including roadmap investments and be accountable for driving the business to meet that forecast.
  • Provide regular updates on market segment revenue and quarterly forecasts while providing market, business, and global customer insights. 
  • Prioritize Application Engineering resources across set of global customer engagements to achieve highest probability of success and revenue.
  • Align with SEBU Marketing Lead, Solution Marketers (SM) to develop sales enablement content and events to drive more product and solution awareness. 
  • Work with Sales Management on Go-To-Market plan to execute towards the market segment strategy and track revenue towards reaching quarterly and yearly forecasts. 
  • Establish deep relationships with target customer management.
  • Work with team members on personal development finding opportunities to coach and mentor them through their roles and providing opportunities for growth through leadership.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor production test industry.  
  • Strong understanding of the semiconductor production test ATE market.
  • Experience and knowledge of semiconductor test’s ecosystem (ATE competition, OSATs, Test houses, test cell providers, etc) 
  • Sales, business development, product management, technical marketing experience appreciated. 
  • Proven ability to manage and build up cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating growth strategies and driving adoption of technical products and solutions.
  • Experience in working with multifaceted cultures & countries, as part of a global organization
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills required.
  • Travel: This role is expected to travel internationally as customers, partners, OSATS are located around the globe.  Up to 40% travel expectations.
