General Summary

This individual will be responsible for performing engineering projects for one or more of the following: Aircraft Systems, Aircraft Structures, Engine and Propeller, Landing Gear, Aircraft MRO Activities, and Material & Processing R&D (including but not limited to brush plating/anodizing, electroplating, primer/topcoats, thermal spray (HVOF and cold spray), Pulse Waterstrip, laser, surface preparation and other related processes.

  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to apply aircraft engineering principles and related disciplines to problem solving applications in a team-oriented work environment
  • Capable of quickly developing a working knowledge of design allowable and structural modeling as it relates to Aircraft Structures, Landing Gear Systems, Engine and propeller systems
  • Performing review of detailed manufacturing plans, drawings and qualification test plans; conduct metallurgical, mechanical, corrosion and chemical testing, chemical and environmental analysis for M&P development.
  • Desire and ability to work in a team environment and have excellent communication skills. The individual must be able to interact with engineers, subcontractors, team members, and customers in a collaborative manner
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, Qualification, Chemical and Mechanical Lab Testing (Fatigue, Adhesion, Micro Sectioning, Hardness, Porosity, Titration, Corrosion, Fluid Compatibility, etc.)
  • Engineering Drawings and Solid Modeling (SolidWorks)
  • Technical Data Publication and Review
  • Perform other duties as requested
Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree (Chemical Engineering) from an ABET accredited university or college. Masterโ€™s Degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of professional experience
  • Aerospace Industry experience a plus
  • Computer Aided Drafting / Solid Modeling
  • Technical Writing
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Metallurgical, Mechanical, Chemical and Corrosion Testing a plus
  • Material, Chemical and Environmental Analysis a plus
  • CNC Programming and machining experience is a plus
  • Robot Programming a plus
  • Electrical Experience a plus
  • An aptitude to learn new technology
  • Positive, pleasant and professional attitude with all levels of staff, customers and government representatives
