The Engineering team has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer.ย 

Location:ย Seattle, WAย 

Position Summaryย 

As a Mechanical Engineer at DLR Group, you willย be responsible forย the design of mechanical systems from schematics through construction administration on a wide range of building types. As part of our integrated design teams, you will help create buildings that elevateย the humanย experience through design. You willย participateย in the design of mechanical building systems, prepare detailed engineering calculations and drawings, and ensure designs meet applicable codes and project requirements.ย 

The successful candidate willย 

  • Assistย in developing projectย objectives, goals, and documentation standards.ย ย 
  • Develop HVAC system designs from concept through construction administration.ย ย 
  • Prepare engineering design calculations, heat load analyses, and mechanical system layouts.ย ย 
  • Develop ductwork and piping plans using Revit.ย ย 
  • Coordinate mechanical design requirements with architecture, structural, electrical, and other disciplines.ย ย 
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, narratives, and construction documents.ย ย 
  • Support plumbing and fire protection system coordination, with direct plumbing design experience considered a plus.ย ย 

Required Qualificationsย 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.ย ย 
  • 2-5 years of experience in HVAC system design, preferably within an MEP consulting environment.ย ย 
  • Experience usingย Revitย for ductwork and piping system design/documentation.ย ย 
  • Experience usingย heat load calculation softwareย (IESVE preferred, but equivalent software experience will be considered).ย ย 
  • Familiarity coordinating mechanical systems on commercial, institutional, or public sector projects.ย ย 

Preferred Qualificationsย 

  • Plumbing design experience.ย ย 
  • Licensed Engineer in Training (EIT) or progress toward Professional Engineer licensure; PE license preferred.ย ย 
  • LEED Accredited Professional or experience supporting sustainable/high-performance building design.ย ย 
  • Energy modeling experience.ย ย
