Job description

Metro Testing + Engineering is looking for experienced Materials Testing Technicians for a site in the Terrace area. It is a camp job and the rotation is 15 days on and 13 days off until October 31st, 2026. The target start date is Mid April, 2026.
What you will be doing:
Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and apparatus
Provide supervisor/manager with updates on workstation status including advance notification of any delays
Review workload summary reports to plan and organize daily work
Perform sample preparation and procedures prior to analysis as described in the test methods and reviews daily workload to accommodate daily rushes
Interpret data, calculate final results and enter data into LIMS Identify any non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling
Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within time requirements
Identify and communicate procedural non conformances to Supervisor
Other duties as required
What you will be getting:
$25-35/hr depends on experience
12 hours days with Overtime
Marshal points are in Western Canada - Vancouver, Nanaimo, Kamloops, Kelowna, Prince George, Smithers and Calgary.
Who we are looking for:
Experienced with testing Soil +Aggregate. (Sieve Analysis/Proctor)
Experience with using Nuclear Densometer
Valid BC/Alberta Driver's license
Must be able to pass a Drug + Alcohol test prior to starting
Experienced with working in FIFO rotation is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 7 months
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
