Responsibilities

Provide Quality Control (QC) support on a wide variety of IT systems, to include premises wiring; inside plant (ISP) infrastructure, telecommunications rooms/areas and associated infrastructure; and outside cable plant (OSP) infrastructure. This is for Inside and Outside Plant with experience with TIA and ANSI standards.

  • Performing walkthroughs/inspections.
  • Reviewing and validating installation procedures.
  • Maintaining QC checklists and logs.
  • Witnessing IT testing.
  • Witnessing critical aspects (i.e. concrete encasement, mandrelling, etc.) of outside plant construction.
  • Performing checkpoint reviews and filing reports.
  • Attending project briefings.
  • Provides installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems.
  • Designs, develops, implements, tests, debugs, and maintains communications systems.
  • Performs configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems, and implements incident response procedures during incidents of anetwork or host security breach.
  • Complies with prescribed customer, industry, and agency standards.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline and 0-5 years of experience, or
  • Associate's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline and 7+ years of experience.
  • SECRET security clearance

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Up to five (5) years experience in IT installation and testing
  • Experience with optical fiber and copper cable testing.
  • Experience with grounding, bonding, and shielding.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/TIA standards.
  • Familiarity with military IT/construction projects.

  

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

  • Standing for long periods.
  • Ambulate throughout a building.
  • Ambulate between several buildings.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as required.
