Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Leo is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) located in Redmond, WA to support the Aviation Design, Product Design (Mechanical), Electrical Design and Antenna Design for the Customer Terminal (CT) Aviation Projects.
As a Senior TPM, you will lead the System development of the aviation customer terminal products, subsystem accessories, and accessories by working closely with cross functional teams including the Device TPM, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, Antenna Engineering, Aviation partners and Airline customers to meet Key Performance Metrics for technical and schedule requirements


You will ensure the hardware design and deliverables align with system software deliverables for key builds. You will collaborate with the Device TPM, Product Integrity, Finance, Operations (including Quality, Operations Program Managers, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering) to successfully mitigate challenges and maintain project milestone. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment.

The ideal person will treat the Senior TPM with a "Founder's Mentality" and own all Day One deliverables like it is their own start up.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S

as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
Senior Hardware TPM need strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to scale communications to the correct audience for decisions to be made.
Emphasize speed of decision within the product development cycles and manage critical issues through optimized prioritization of resources and personnel.
Working with overseas internal and external teams on developing products.
Scale and evolve key processes and design review checkpoint mechanisms to enable responsible last minute decision making on one way and two way door decisions.
Manage and communicate product development critical issues, work collaboratively to execute solutions meeting key product KPI and escalate as required when teams are unable to reach a consensus or decisions are one - way door.
A day in the life
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing execution of the Device Hardware and Accessories (cables, power supplies, etc.) with a balance of technical skills, bias for action, customer obsession, and ownership. The TPM will collaborate daily onsite with the hardware development team located in Redmond, WA including Product Design, Industrial Design, Electrical, and Antenna teams. On a weekly basis, the TPM will create agendas and presentations leading to meetings at the Director and VP level to make timely one way and two way door decisions to maintain project timelines, finances, requirements and deliverables
