Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Pharmacy Clerk to join our team. The Pharmacy Clerk supports the pharmacy team by assisting with customer service, maintaining an organized and clean work environment, and managing front-end pharmacy tasks. This role ensures that customers have a positive and efficient experience while supporting the workflow of the pharmacy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and assist with check-in, prescription drop-off, and pickup
  • Answer phones and direct calls appropriately
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Maintain and organize front-end merchandise, including restocking shelves and rotating inventory
  • File completed prescriptions alphabetically or by other designated system
  • Notify pharmacists or technicians of customer questions or concerns
  • Ensure the pharmacy counter, waiting area, and shelves are clean and orderly
  • Assist with receiving and unpacking drug and front-end inventory shipments
  • Follow all HIPAA and patient confidentiality policies
  • Support pharmacy team with administrative tasks as needed
  • Promote a positive and professional image of the pharmacy to all customer


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
  • Basic computer and cash handling experience
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous retail or pharmacy experience preferred but not required
