The Residential Specialist provides general oversight and support to residents in a residential housing environment while promoting safety, independence, personal growth, and recovery. In this role, you will provide in-the-moment coaching, supervision, skill development, crisis resolution, medication support, and treatment plan implementation whilemaintainingaccuratedocumentation and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to ensure quality care.

Provide supportive supervision and guidance to residents while promoting independence, personal responsibility, and successful community living
Teach and reinforce daily living skills including meal preparation, housekeeping, personal hygiene, laundry, and activity planning
Facilitateassigned resident groups and encourage participation, growth, and positive behavioral change
Implement treatment plan interventions and incorporate therapeutic support into daily resident interactions
Monitorthe safety and security of residents, facilities, and program environments throughout each shift
Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution efforts whilemaintaininga positive and structured living environment
Monitor resident interactions, visitor activity, and compliance with program expectations to ensure a safe community setting
Administer, document, count, and oversee medicationsin accordance withprogram procedures and training requirements, as applicable
Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and treatment team membersregardingresidents' medical and behavioral health needs
Serve as a staff advisor for assigned residents and complete related treatment planning and documentation responsibilities
Complete resident progress notes, communication logs, and other required documentation accurately and within establishedtimeframes
Attend and activelyparticipatein meetings with residential staff, supervisors, treatment teams, and other departments as assigned
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
High school diploma or GEDrequired
Some experience in Human Services or a related fieldrequired
Bachelor's degree in Human Servicesor a related field preferred
Associate degree in Behavioral Health Servicesor a related field may be considered
Must successfully complete CPR and First Aid certification requirements
Must complete Medication Administration training as required by assigned housing program
Must complete annual TB testing and physical health screenings
Must successfully pass all required background screenings
Additional Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Mustpossessa valid Missouri driver's license
Must be able to obtain a Chauffeur's Driver's License
Mustmaintaina current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, policies, procedures, and operating instructions
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, family members, and community partners
Ability towriteroutine reports, correspondence, and documentation accurately
Ability toestablishand maintain effective professional relationships through telephone and in-person interactions
Ability to exercise sound judgment, follow direction, and work effectively under supervision
Successful completion of background checks including criminal history, driving record, abuse/neglect screenings, and fingerprint checksrequired
Perform sedentary work requiring exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible forcefrequentlyto move objects
Use hands, fingers, and arms for repetitive tasks including typing, writing, and documentation throughout the work shift
Remain seated for extended periods while completing documentation and administrative duties
Occasionally walk or stand for brief periods while supervising residents and performing job functions
Perform physical activities consistent with a sedentary work environment whilemaintainingresident oversight and support
