Job description

The Chart Management Office (CMO) is a non-patient-facing department that prepares all charts for the Gwinnett and Duluth campuses. RNs in this department handle all request and review of labs, diagnostics, clearances, and studies, and consult with anesthesia NPs to order additional labs, diagnostics, clearances, and testing as needed. They also work closely with the patient's surgeon. Key qualifications include a familiarity with surgical devices and reports, proficiency with the Cerner EHR, and the ability to interpret reports and labs with a focus on anesthesia guidelines. Additionally, previous experience in an outpatient office may be helpful, as nurse will be calling specialist offices, surgeons offices, and discussing cases with providers over the phone and through Cerner. 

Responsibilities

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  • Must hold Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
  • KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

  • BSN degree
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  • Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
  • Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
  • Work Hours:0830-1700Weekend Requirements:NoOn-Call Requirements:NoEmployment Type: FULL_TIME
