Job description

JOB TITLE: Health Information Services Specialist

DEPARTMENT:Support Services

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for a variety of tasks in health information services such as; processing electronic and paper health information for the release of information; data analysis to ensure completeness of records for chart completion; retrieval, prepping, scanning and indexing of paper documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

  1. Responsible for extracting information for a medical record that is relevant for clinical care.
  2. Responsible for building the chart recommendation patient health profiles between EMR databases.
  3. Assists with performing weekly audits to ensure chart prep is complete and all other department tasks are following appropriate timelines.
  4. Responds to requests from Clinical staff for charts or medical information.

PAY RANGE: $24-28/hr to start (dependent upon experience)
