Job description

Senior Staff Accountant
This position is responsible for duties related to month-end close, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and general journal entries throughout the month. This role works under the guidance of and assists the Controller, preparing and reporting plant and operational financial statements conforming to GAAP requirements. This role also assumes many other duties as assigned throughout the week, month, and year.
What You'll Do:
    • Support of the day-to-day accounting functions of the operations organization
    • Completing month-end close process and preparation of general ledger account analysis
    • Prepare and maintain various account roll forwards.
    • Assist in various operations related analysis including but not limited to production KPI's, COGS analysis, margin analysis, ROI calculations, capacity utilization, etc.
    • Posting all relevant accounting journal entries
    • Creation, analysis and posting of various month end accruals
    • Identify and implement process improvement in the month end close process, including methods to accelerate overall close timeline while maintaining accuracy
    • Perform and assist with identified account reconciliations and analysis
    • Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts
    • Assist with preparation of audit reports and inquiries

    • Serve as liaison between Operations and accounting for existing fixed asset transactions
    • Assist with preparation of company plant capex reporting requirements

    • Complete special projects as assigned to support finance and operations organizations
    • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
    • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
    • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential

What You Bring:
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Oracle experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written, organizational skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and prioritize independently
  • Self-motivated with a focus on process improvements
  • A keen customer service mentality
  • Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment
  • Minimum work experience of 5+ years FT exempt in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum education of Accounting degree
  • Experience with customer service and client communication
