Job description

Ensuring Chart’s Success…

The Master Scheduler is responsible for creating and managing all production and shipment schedules. This role assembles the master schedule based upon the business, shipment, inventory, and production plans and serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with Engineering, Sales, Production, Project Management and Shipping departments.

What Will You Do?
  • Leverage the JDE system to develop plant production schedules.
  • Establish and evaluate scheduling priorities for job orders including management of PRP messages & work order creations.
  • Resolve Supply, Demand, and Capacity issues while optimizing labor utilization.
  • Execute efficient schedules to drive the highest possible OTD.
  • Respond to requests from internal customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform all capacity planning activities and coordinate output with planners and production areas. 
  • Use JDE to integrate Sales Orders and Workorders with master schedule/production schedules; coordinate availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and workers as needed to meet delivery dates.  
  • Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.  
  • Ensure all Work Orders and projects are properly documented and closed in scheduling systems.
  • Assess and implement ERP techniques needed to plan, schedule, control, measure, and evaluate the effectiveness of production operations.
  • Successfully communicate forecast to Management and Production team.
  • Monitor and report any important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
  • Maintain all customer related forecasts into JDE.
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Communicate production schedule to staff members promptly.
  • Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling  
  • Generate and maintain workorders in alignment with the production plans    
  • Identify manufacturing variances weekly and reports them to Finance/Operations team.
  • Review new product lines for work order accuracy.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of standard labor hours.
  • Responsible for comparing standard cost to actual cost and identifying and explaining manufacturing variances.
  • Responsible for maintaining work areas and performing job functions safely and efficiently by company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop continuous improvement opportunities relative to position and participates in execution.
  • Align ERP production schedules with customer requirements.
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

  • Lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, other movement as necessary
  • Manufacturing Plant – required PPE when necessary
Your Experience Should Be...
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management 
  • Advance knowledge of Excel
  • Strong, professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong sense of time management, scheduling and prioritizing.
  • Teamwork and team building skills.
  • Ability to professionally interact with all employees, customers, vendors and visitors
