Job description

Shift: Days, Nights, Weekdays, Weekends
Location: Huntersville, NC
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs excellent patient care for all CT scan and x-rays. Quickly and accurately completes all paperwork to include orders, lab work and authorization confirmation. Monitoring the safety of patients pertaining to radiation and contrast dose.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Examines orders and verifies request on patients. Addresses any questionable orders to Radiologist before procedures. Operates CT equipment with proficiency. Operates Injector with proficiency
  • Operate X-ray equipment with proficiency
  • Paperwork/orders, email order request and authorization. Records medical history on designated history form. Correlates test results and other lab data with exam being performed
  • Performs IVs, give patients oral contrast, do lab work if needed
  • Monitor supplies/stock room
  • Communicate with radiologist for protocols as needed
  • Communicate with pacs/IT for imaging distribution if necessary

Qualifications:
  • CT experience
  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT registered in CT
  • BLS
  • Must be able to perform procedures in accordance to departmental protocols and standards. Operates CT scanners, X-ray equipment, IV contrast injectors O2 tanks. Computer literate and knowledgeable of CR programs
  • Must be up to date with local and federal regulations that apply to their licensure and role
  • Must be able to access all patient history to review any allergies that could interfere with the patient's test
  • Must be able to communicate with the Radiologist or referring MD if a protocol needs to be obtained or a test needs to be altered
  • Must be able to report malfunctioning equipment to the Radiology engineer
  • Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift the appropriate weight determined by CR (50-75 lbs.)
  • Must have positive communication skills
  • Performs basic patient care functions and informs the Radiologist or nurse of any change in the patient's condition if needed
  • Must be competent with IVs
  • Travel required: 0 - 25%
