Charge RNs also handle administrative tasks such as staffing schedules and addressing patient or staff concerns, all while providing direct patient care when necessary. Their role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient care on the unit.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), patient care management systems, and certifications like ACLS or BLS are commonly required.
