WOM is seeking an experienced Wellhead Designer to join our Engineering team at our Canemont facility in Southwest Houston. This role will support both Engineering and Sales by designing and developing conventional and compact wellhead equipment, preparing technical documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer and operational requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design new products and prepare layout and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Develop running procedures, test procedures, and other technical documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of API 6A, ASME standards, ISO drafting practices, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Plan, coordinate, and review design and drafting activities related to custom customer solutions.
  • Ensure designs meet engineering standards, quality requirements, and performance expectations.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of products to meet evolving market and customer needs.
  • Monitor and report project status, including schedule, productivity, and design quality.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and other departments to resolve technical issues and support business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in conventional and compact wellhead design.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of API 6A and industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
