Their work involves conceptualizing the character’s appearance, personality, backstory, and sometimes even their movement or voice. Character creators often collaborate with writers, animators, and game developers to ensure the character fits seamlessly into the story and world. They use their artistic skills and creativity to bring unique and memorable characters to life.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a character creator?

Job description

About Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott
Born out of love for her family's Texas ranch and the connection, tranquility, and adventure it brings, Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott is the latest extension of the Kendra Scott brand. Taking its name from the infamous golden-hued roses of the Lone Star State, as well as the joyful style that the brand is known for, the Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott collection is a boutique approach to jewelry, apparel, and home goods that celebrates the rich ranch culture of the American Southwest.
Position Overview
Yellow Rose is seeking a highly creative, culturally attuned Content Creator to bring the brand to life through distinctive, social-first storytelling.
Sitting at the intersection of brand, culture, and content, this role will translate the Yellow Rose point of view into compelling stories that build connections and deepen the consumer's understanding of the brand. From retail and hospitality experiences to product, music, cultural moments, and signature brand events, this person will capture the energy, character, and world of Yellow Rose with an editorial eye and a strong instinct for people, place, and culture.
This is a highly creative, hands-on role for someone who can uncover a compelling story and bring it to life from concept through execution, moving seamlessly between spontaneous, social-native storytelling and more elevated brand content. Based in Texas, this person will stay closely connected to the Yellow Rose team and regularly be on the ground capturing key brand, retail, hospitality, and cultural moments across the state and beyond.
Responsibilities
Brand & Cultural Storytelling
  • Concept, capture, and edit distinctive short-form content for social and digital channels that bring the Yellow Rose brand world to life.
  • Identify compelling stories across product, people, retail, hospitality, music, culture, and the broader Yellow Rose community.
  • Develop recurring content series and formats that build a recognizable Yellow Rose voice and create an ongoing connection with consumers.
  • Stay closely connected to relevant conversations across fashion, music, Western culture, hospitality, retail, and social media, identifying opportunities for the brand to participate with relevance and intention.
  • Balance an elevated brand aesthetic with content that feels timely, human, and native to social.

Brand Experiences & Key Moments
  • Be on the ground capturing the energy and character of Yellow Rose retail, hospitality, product launches, partnerships, events, and key cultural moments (from rodeo season and live music to signature brand experiences).
  • Approach each experience through a storytelling lens, identifying the people, details, and moments that communicate the broader Yellow Rose lifestyle.
  • Showcase product naturally within the brand world through styling, craftsmanship, customization, and experience.
  • Build rapport with team members, talent, partners, and other approved participants to bring greater personality and dimension to storytelling.
  • Ensure on-camera content follows established brand guidelines, permissions, and applicable release requirements.
  • Regularly travel across Texas and to select markets as needed to capture priority brand and cultural moments, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Content Production & Collaboration
  • Own content creation from concept through execution, including story development, capture, editing, audio selection, and delivery of final assets.
  • Shoot confidently across iPhone and camera-based formats, choosing the right approach for the story and channel.
  • Partner closely with Social, Creative, Brand, PR, Retail, and Merchandising to translate brand and business priorities into compelling content.
  • Maintain an organized library of video, photography, raw footage, and evergreen assets that can be leveraged across the organization.
  • Move quickly when relevant opportunities arise while maintaining a consistent creative standard and strong brand point of view.

Qualifications
  • Yellow Rose has a consistent and distinctive storytelling presence that extends beyond campaigns and product launches, giving consumers an ongoing window into the people, places, experiences, and culture that define the brand.
  • Content feels unmistakably Yellow Rose: elevated but not overly produced, culturally relevant without chasing trends, and grounded in a clear point of view. Ultimately, this role helps create a brand world consumers recognize, connect with, and want to experience.
  • Must reside in Texas, with Austin strongly preferred to allow for regular connection and collaboration with the corporate team.
  • A sophisticated storyteller with a strong editorial eye and instinct for identifying the people, places, and details that make a story compelling.
  • Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and evolving social formats, with strong short-form video capture and editing skills.
  • Strong visual taste and genuine curiosity across fashion, lifestyle, hospitality, retail, music, and culture.
  • Ability to translate a distinct brand point of view into content without relying on highly prescriptive creative direction.
  • Natural ability to connect with people and create authentic, engaging content.
  • Comfortable moving between elevated brand storytelling and spontaneous, real-time content.
  • Resourceful, collaborative, organized, and comfortable operating in fast-moving environments.
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends around priority brand moments.
  • Portfolio of relevant content creation and social-first storytelling required.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
