Overview

Ghouls and goblins and zombies, oh my! Kings Island is searching high and low for the creepiest scare actors this side of the grave. Show us your drop‑dead talent and prowl the streets of Kings Island with your fellow undead. With auditions Friday’s and Saturday’s, we offer plenty of opportunities for you to scare us out of our wits— not to mention the perks are to die for. Thrill seekers beware, for they are surely in for a scare with you on our team.

Join the fear‑filled fun this fall as a Scare Actor for Halloween Haunt—the region’s most terrifying and thrilling Halloween event!

  • Fridays | 5 PM – 8 PM
    • August 7, 14, 21, 28 & September 4, 11

    • August 8, 15, 22, 29 & September 5, 12

Auditions held at the Kings Island Human Resources building. Parking available in the Team Member Parking Lot (enter via One Team Way off Columbia Road).

What You Need to Know
  • No appointment necessary – walk‑ins welcome!
  • Some positions may fill quickly – arrive early if you’re interested in a specific role.
  • Bring a current resume and a complete list of your availability from August 12 – October 28.
  • Average rate varies by role and availability.
Responsibilities
  • Changes posture, walk and presence to enhance character believability.
  • Grunts, groans, growls, screams, and makes other monster noises to contribute to the assigned character.
  • Uses a variety of props and noise makers to support the guests scare experience in a safe manner.
  • Interacts with guests while performing, in character, in a professional and artistic manner.
  • Performs role as scripted and or conceived, and consistently remain in character while 'on-stage'.
  • Works as a member of a team to achieve overall atmosphere and goals directed by Entertainment.
  • Scares guests in a safe and effective manner utilizing creativity and common sense.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Be able to work all assigned dates of Halloween Event.
  • Experience in stage acting or haunted attractions helpful.
  • Ability to wear heavy make‑up and/or mask for entire shift.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
