Shipyard Project Manager

Location: Channelview, TX

Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Shipyard Project Manager to join our team in Channelview, Texas. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our marine repair and construction projects. You will oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning & Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and schedules; meticulously plan and allocate materials and manpower required for each project phase.

  • Budget & Cost Control: Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and implement cost-control measures to ensure profitability without compromising quality.

  • Team Leadership: Direct, motivate, and supervise shipyard supervisors, trade crews, and subcontractors, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

  • Resource Management: Coordinate procurement requests and track inventory to ensure materials and equipment are available when needed.

  • Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular progress updates, managing change orders, and resolving any issues promptly.

  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to OSHA, Coast Guard, and company safety regulations, ensuring a hazard-free work environment.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle to guarantee compliance with maritime standards and specifications.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Previous experience working in a shipyard or maritime environment is highly preferred.

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, or Marine Engineering is a strong plus.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or Excel).

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both deck-level tradespeople and executive clients.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities, particularly under tight deadlines or shifting project scopes.

  • Location: Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Channelview, TX.
