Job Description:

The position of an IT Support Specialist includes working with the end-user and providing infrastructure support and maintenance. The IT Support Specialist answers to the Director for the Job Challenge Academy at Fort Stewart, GA.

They will work to support both the Job Challenge and Youth Challenge campuses. Applicant must have the ability to troubleshoot multifaceted problems in a systematic manner.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose software and hardware problems with network connected computers and servers
  • Assist staff with a variety of IT related problems including program specific applications
  • Track, prioritize, and document requests using an IT support request system
  • Install and configure new computers and other IT equipment such as servers, switches, access points, and VOIP phone systems
  • Repair and upgrade different types of computers (software and hardware)
  • Identify problems with and repair printers and scanners on the network
  • Keep track of IT supplies and equipment
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates of all IT equipment to include servers, switches, printers, and other connected devices
  • Research and learn, and make recommendations to the director about new software in the market that relates to the organization's functions

The successful candidate will have A+ and Network+ Certification, and be knowledgeable of Office 365, Windows Servers, and Hyper-V.

Agency Entry Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND training and experience necessary to provide technical support to computer users in the organization. Recruiters will be more interested in your ability to express your knowledge in the practices, concepts and procedures that are necessary within this field.

Additional Information:
Selected applicant must pass a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a Georgia criminal records search, national fingerprint records search and a pre-employment drug test (post-hire will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program). In addition, a post-employment federal background investigation is also required.
