Job description

Overview

UF Health is seeking a Vice President of Supply Chain Distribution Operations to lead a fully integrated, system-wide approach to supply chain logistics across both acute and non-acute settings. This role oversees the UF Health Integrated Service Center (ISC)—a self-distribution model supporting medical and surgical supply delivery across multiple markets—and is responsible for driving consistency, efficiency, and service excellence across the enterprise.

This leader will partner closely with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders to ensure alignment, optimize performance, and advance a unified supply chain strategy that supports patient care, operational resilience, and long-term growth.


Responsibilities

System Supply Chain Operations & Optimization

  • Lead end-to-end supply chain distribution strategy, including inventory, replenishment, and logistics operations across all markets
  • Drive standardization of supply delivery models and integrate legacy processes into a unified system-wide approach
  • Optimize inventory management to reduce waste, improve service levels, and strengthen supply chain resilience
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement service recovery strategies in partnership with market leaders

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute a system-wide supply chain distribution strategy and annual operating plan
  • Align distribution operations with broader organizational priorities, including capital planning and growth initiatives
  • Partner with executive leadership to ensure supply chain strategies support clinical and financial outcomes

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Engagement

  • Partner with Value Analysis and Strategic Sourcing to drive product standardization, utilization, and contract compliance
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, IT, and finance leaders to identify cost optimization opportunities
  • Align with Facilities and Construction leadership on infrastructure planning for warehouses, docks, and supply rooms

Analytics & Performance Improvement

  • Leverage data and benchmarking to identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvement, and operational efficiency
  • Track, measure, and communicate performance outcomes and savings initiatives
  • Implement best practices to continuously improve distribution strategy and execution

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of supply chain leaders across multiple markets
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture focused on operational excellence
  • Provide leadership in workforce planning, talent development, and retention

Vendor & External Partner Management

  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to drive innovation and value
  • Lead regular business reviews and ensure vendor performance aligns with organizational goals

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, ethical sourcing standards, and organizational policies
  • Oversee contract compliance and provide guidance on supply chain governance and best practices

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain distribution and operations
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare supply chain required
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, system-wide operational initiatives
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities
  • Experience partnering with executive stakeholders across clinical, operational, and financial domains
  • Track record of driving standardization, cost savings, and performance improvement in complex environments
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
