Job description

Position Description: CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for an Onsite Support Technician within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. The Onsite Support Technician provides direct, hands-on technical assistance to users experiencing computer hardware, software, or network issues. Their responsibilities include troubleshooting, resolving problems, installing and configuring equipment, and maintaining IT systems. They act as the primary point of contact for users needing technical support and ensure efficient operation of IT infrastructure at a specific location or multiple sites. CGI Federal is growing its high-performance team whose members share a passion for building high-quality, scalable, advanced IT solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced, outcome-driven mission. This position is located in USA VA Arlington, and 100% onsite Your future duties and responsibilities: • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues for end-users. • Installation and Configuration: Setting up and configuring new hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, printers, and network devices. • Maintenance and Support: Performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance. • User Support: Providing guidance and assistance to users on how to use computer systems and software effectively. • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of support activities, including troubleshooting steps and solutions. • Escalation: Identifying and escalating complex issues to the appropriate support teams or specialists. • Inventory Management: Maintaining an inventory of IT equipment and ensuring proper disposal of obsolete or damaged items. • Communication: Effectively communicating with users, remote support teams, and other IT staff to resolve issues and provide updates. • Project Support: Participating in IT projects related to installations, upgrades, and system deployments. • Following Procedures: Adhering to company policies and procedures, including those related to data security and confidentiality. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience
• Security Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems (Windows, macOS, etc.), and basic networking concepts.
• Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with users and other IT staff.
• Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide a positive and helpful experience for users needing technical assistance.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve complex technical issues.
• Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $150000.00.
