Position Summary:
Our Superintendents are responsible for planning and executing assigned civil construction projects.  This will include a mix of excavation, carpentry, masonry, cast-in-place & structural concrete work, and site restoration. This position is for a working Superintendent. It is expected that as a working Superintendent, you will be part of the crew and perform tasks involving physical labor. 
Specific Duties:
  • Organize, manage, and lead crews to ensure projects are completed on time and per specified requirements.
  • Work with managers, engineers, and subcontractors to determine and meet all project needs including but not limited to safety, schedule, and budget.
  • Work with the project managers to plan and order required materials, equipment, inspections, permits etc. in advance, to keep projects running smoothly.
  • Read drawings, specifications and other contract documents to meet on-site requirements.
  • Verify operators are performing all daily maintenance requirements, operating equipment properly and completing tasks safely. 
  • Monitor and track project progress, recording time and quantities daily.
  • Focus on maintaining our strict quality and safety standards.
  • Identify project needs and jump in to help with any aspect to get the required work completed.

Requirements:
  • 5 years’ experience with civil construction with a strong expertise in excavation, carpentry and concrete. 
  • Able to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Have knowledge and the ability to use required equipment and tools. 
  • Must have valid NYS Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Good verbal, computer, and written communication skills.
  • Must be available to work any shift.
  • Superintendents are expected to work a minimum 30 minutes before crews arrive and 30 minutes after crews leave.  All planning, material gathering etc. required for the next day’s work.  
  • Overtime and off-shift work will be required.
  • The ability to travel when required.  Including overnight(s) on occasions.
  • Must have positive attitude, record of reliability and a desire to be trained in the safe performance of the work.
  • OSHA 10 Card is a plus

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • Work involves frequent exposure to challenging environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
  • Significant physical activity is required, including heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling.
  • Comfort working at heights is essential.

Compensation:
  • $42.00 to $48.00 per hour based on experience
