Job description

Job Summary:

BDO is seeking an experienced professional to support due diligence, counterintelligence, research, and analytical efforts for Intelligence Community (IC) agencies. This role will also partner with senior leaders across the Public Sector Practice to support business development, practice development, and project delivery activities. As a member of the Public Sector Practice leadership team, this individual may oversee staff, support performance management and task delegation, help resolve issues, and contribute to client project execution. The role requires strong problem-solving and fact-finding skills and the ability to work closely with team members, leadership, and client stakeholders while supporting or leading practice, solution, and business development initiatives.

Job Duties:

  • Delivers research, analytical, and advisory support by applying education, experience, and strong organizational skills in service of BDO's dynamic public sector clients
  • Supports or leads workstreams, coordinating with engagement leadership and client stakeholders on strategy, planning, execution, status reporting, and quality review
  • Conducts qualitative and quantitative research and detailed assessments of entities, transactions, programs, and proposals to identify risks, trends, inconsistencies, and potential vulnerabilities
  • Produces clear, well-supported analyses, reports, briefings, and recommendations to inform client decisions and stakeholder actions
  • Reviews documentation, datasets, and other source materials to develop a thorough understanding of issues, operating environments, and areas of concern
  • Manages competing priorities effectively, coordinates communications, drives tasks to completion, and supports multiple efforts through flexible coordination
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize assignments, manage multiple projects, and meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
  • Applies foundational industry knowledge and relevant standards to support client reviews, process improvements, and implementation efforts
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key client personnel to promote a shared understanding of business processes, operations, and functions
  • Prepares presentations, briefings, and actively participates in client meetings and day-to-day interactions
  • Communicates with team leadership through effective status reporting and demonstrates ownership and accountability for assigned workstreams and deliverables
  • Establishes and maintains professional rapport with clients and external organizations
  • Reviews work products for technical accuracy, deliverable quality, and overall value to the client
  • Participates in relevant training, seminars, and conferences to remain current on professional requirements, industry developments, and client needs
  • Supports business development efforts by identifying opportunities, strengthening existing relationships, and contributing to the growth of the firm's practice areas
  • Assists with business development meetings and proposal development activities under the guidance of Public Sector Practice leadership
  • Supports recruiting efforts by identifying prospective candidates and participating in the interview process
  • Performs other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May oversee day-to-day work of Public Sector staff, including project execution, workload management, productivity, staff development, and review of work products
  • Evaluates staff performance, provides ongoing feedback, supports goal setting and professional development, and serves as a mentor or career advisor, as appropriate

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree, required

Experience

  • Seven (7) or more years of relevant professional experience, required
  • Five (5) or more years of experience conducting research and analysis, preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with counterintelligence issues, preferred
  • Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) knowledge and/or experience, preferred

License(s)/Certification(s)

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance, required

Software

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), required
  • Prior experience with Next Generation Trident, preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $140,000 - $175,000
Maryland Range: $140,000 - $175,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $140,000 - $175,000
