Business Analyst

Long term contract with a major financial firm in Newark, NJ. 2 -3 days per week onsite are required. We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong background in Fixed Income Asset Management to join our growing team. This individual will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders (portfolio managers, analysts, quants) and the technology team, ensuring that requirements are understood and met to support business objectives.

Candidate should be able to write Python code for prototyping with the help of AI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for the development team.
  • Support the implementation of fixed income front office systems and tools, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure solutions meet business expectations.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including functional specifications, use cases, and process flows.
  • Work with project manager and cross-functional teams to manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that project objectives are met on time and within scope.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-10 years of experience in a business analyst role within the financial services industry, with a focus on fixed income asset management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of fixed income products, including bonds, derivatives, and other related instruments.
    • Python
    • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
